Green Paw is happy to announce that the GoGirlsMusicFest raised thousands of dollars for animal rescues and organizations throughout the U.S. GP was a proud sponsor of the 8th Annual MusicFest which showcased concerts featuring independent female artists in 13 cities. GoGirls volunteers in each city chose a local animal group to benefit.

The Dumb Friends League (est. 1910) was one of the worthwhile organizations the MusicFest raised money and awareness for. In this case, the word "dumb" refers to those who cannot speak. Their mission: "speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves."

Benefit shows were held in Dallas, Houston, and Austin, TX; Long Beach, Los Angeles, and Oakland, CA; Nashville, TN; Philadelphia, PA; Phoenix, AZ; Milwaukee, WI; Brooklyn, NY; Bridgeport, CT; and Denver, CO.

The MusicFest is the brainchild of Madalyn Sklar, founder of GoGirlsMusic.com, as a way to integrate the goal of GoGirlsMusic of promoting independent women in music while supporting various charities. In the past, the MusicFest has helped charities such as MusicCares, the American Liver Foundation/HepCAware, Rock N' Roll Camp for Girls, the Lynne Cohen Foundation for Ovarian Cancer Research, and the Nicole Brown Charitable Foundation.
